Ryan McLaughlin set a new school record during Friday night's game against Chantilly.

The Herndon Hornets football team may have lost 56-40 to the Chantilly Chargers on Friday, but Herndon is still riding high with the knowledge that its junior quarterback, Ryan McLaughlin, set a new school record during the game.

Also great news: McLaughlin is being featured as the Player of the Week by GameDayMagazine.com.

McLaughlin set a new school record Friday with five touchdown passes and a total of 371 yards during the night's game.

"Congratulations to Ryan for his lights-out performance," GameDayMagazine said on its website.
