Is this the week South Lakes High School's football team breaks its Liberty District losing skid?
The odds say yes.
The Seahawks (2-6, 0-5 Liberty) , coming off a 35-14 road loss at Langley last Friday, return home to host Marshall.
Marshall (0-8, 0-5) is winless this season. In 2011, the Seahawks, struggling with an 0-8 record heading into its matchup with Marshall the last weekend in October, broke through by rallying for a 22-16 victory.
With victories over Herndon and Lousia County - and a couple of close losses to Madison and McLean - this season the Seahawks are already much improved from 2011. Quarterback Rashaan Jones has scored nine touchdowns and is averaging 67.53 passing yards and 147 rushing yards per game.
South Lakes' offense has also been sparked by senior receiver Zac Parker, who has scored eight touchdowns and has 25 receptions, 629 receiving yards and 161 rushing yards this season.
