Football: South Lakes Closes Out at Home

Seahawks host Thomas Jefferson on Friday for final 2012 regular-season game.

The South Lakes Seahawks enter their final football game of 2012 riding a boost in confidence after a 53-0 drubbing of Marshall at home last Friday.

The Seahawks (3-6 overall, 1-5 Liberty District) are home again to close out the season. They host Thomas Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Jefferson is 5-4 overall, 2-4 Liberty and riding a two-game winning streak with victories over Marshall and McLean.

Jefferson is led by running back Patrick O'Connor, who has rushed for 879 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. South Lakes' offensive leader is Zac Parker, who has 629 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Last week's game was a showcase for South Lakes quarterback Rashaan Jones, who ran in four touchdowns, including a 53-yarder in the first quarter and a 45-yard interception return in the second.

Last season, the Seahawks lost 17-7 to TJ in the final game.
