Blood Drive sponsored by Reston Runners at TownCenter

Reston Runners will partner with Inova Blood Donor Services to bring the Bloodmobile to Reston Town Center on Saturday, January 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Bloodmobile will be parked next to the ice rink on Market Street in Reston Town Center. According to Dr. Pete Bruno, who spearheads the drive for Reston Runners, donors can pre-register on the Reston Runners website   or simply come to the Bloodmobile on January 7.

This is the sixth annual effort by Reston Runners to raise consciousness and to collect much needed blood donations.  In past years the Reston Runners blood drive has been a highly successful part of Inova  Blood Donor Services effort to collect 200 units EVERY DAY to meet the ongoing need in the community.

There are 12 donor slots available each hour.  Potential donors can sign up for a specific appointment time on the Reston Runners website, or simply come to Reston Town Center on Saturday, January 7,  for a total of 48 potential units of blood to be collected.

Reston Runners is the largest physical fitness club in Reston, with more than 800 members who enjoy running, walking, biking and other ways to get fit and stay healthy. The club welcomes all runners and walkers of any age, ability, or current physical condition.  We use and explore all the parks and paths in Reston.  While some members participate in local and other races, most simply enjoy the camaraderie of weekly, organized club runs, walks and other activities that safely promote health, fitness, and personal goals.
