Liberty District Honors for SLHS Soccer

The South Lakes High School boys soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a 7-0 Liberty District record (12-1 overall) and the regular-season district title.

The Seahawks gave up just one goal in district play this spring an six goals overall.

The Seahawks are No.2 in this week's Washington Post poll.

More Liberty District honors:

* Coach Marty Pfister- boys coach of the year.

* Dylan Katz - Liberty District Player of the Year.  In addition to anchoring a defense that registered eight shutouts in 13 games, Katz was also the team's high scorer while tying for top district scoring honors.

* First Team All District - Goalie Huber Letona, midfielder Suli Dainkeh and Elvin Arbaiza

Second Team All District - forward Johnny DeSouza and Zach Deker 

Girls soccer 

The SLHS Girls Varsity Soccer team had a program-record eight players named as All-Liberty District selections.

First Team - goalie Sara Vigen, defender Lindsey Gibson, midfielder Elise Andrich 

Second Team - defender Kaitlyn Gallagher, midfielder Ellen Gose, forward Molly McGrath

Honorable Mention - mifielder Meaghan Nally, defender Gabby Alcantara 

Liberty District Coach of the Year - Mike Astudillo
