Can South Lakes Continue Winning Ways in Homecoming Game?
Seahawks host Langley Friday at 7:30 p.m.
South Lakes High School's football team is riding a two-game winning streak as it heads into its homecoming game against Langley Friday night.
The Seahawks (4-2, 2-0 conference) have already surpassed the number of victories of 2012 - and there are four more games remaining.
After losing the opener 45-7 to Westfield, the Seahawks topped Washington-Lee and Herndon in back-to-back games.
They then lost 13-12 in the last second to McLean. A fumble recovery and a frantic last-second play resulted in what Highlanders coaches called 'The Miracle in Reston."
South Lakes regrouped by beating Madison 36-27 and topping Thomas Jefferson 20-15 in last Friday's torrential rain (the game was even moved from TJ to Fairfax's turf fields at the last minute due to conditions).
Kickoff for the Langley game is 7:30 p.m. Friday - and don't forget the homecoming parade from Hunters Woods Village Center to the high school beginning at 5 p.m. The homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime.
Meanwhile, Langley brings a 4-2, 2-1 record - along with a three-game winning streak - into Friday's matchup.
