Boys Basketball: SLHS Defeats Madison

Seahawks previal on Senior Night; Girls lose on the road.

The South Lakes boys basketball team celebrated Senior Night with a 50-47 win over the visiting Madison Warhawks.

The Seahawks were led by seniors J.D. Wallace, who scored 15 points, and Jordan Francis with 12 points.

The Seahawks improved their record to 14-6 and 9-4 in the Liberty District.  Madison fell to 8-12, and 3-10 Liberty.

The Seahawks close out their regular season with a visit to Stone Bridge High School on Friday night at 7:30 pm.  The Seahawks will host an opening round Liberty District tournament game at South Lakes next Tuesday night.

South Lakes fell to Madison 60-42 at the Warhawks' Senior Night on Tuesday.

The Seahawks (13-7, 8-5 Liberty) were down by seven points at halftime, 25-18. To begin the second half, Madison shot 70 percent from the floor, which resulted in a 17-7 scoring advantage in the third quarter, en route to maintaining the lead for the remainder of the game.

Madison outrebounded South Lakes, 39-25, including an 18-10 advantage on the offensive glass.  Sophomore center, Abigail Rendle led South Lakes with eight points, and added five rebounds, three blocks, and one assist. Sophomore guard Natalie Toma finished with seven points, (one three pointer), and had two steals. Senior guard Emily Lopynski added six points, two steals, one rebound, and one assist.

Sophomore guard, Caitlin Jensen, returned to action from injury, and finished with five points, (one three pointer), four rebounds and two assists.

South Lakes will host Stone Bridge for Senior Night (to honor lone senior Emily Lopynski) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Friday is also Camper Appreciation Night. Campers who wear their pink camp T-short get in free with a paying adult.
