Baseball: Seahawks Top TJ

South Lakes High School's baseball team notched an 8-3 win over Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday at home.

The game was the final Liberty District meeting between the Seahawks and the Colonials as the Colonials will be changing districts next year.

Seahawks pitcher Bobby Rae Allen picked up his third win of the season with a complete game performance.

The action started early with the Colonials getting runners on first and second with no outs in the first inning but were denied any runs by great Seahawks pitching and defensive play.

The Seahawks wasted no time scoring. Matt Wojciechowski led off the bottom of the first inning with a single and scored on a JoJo Lear double for the first run of the game.  The Seahawks struck again in the bottom of the second inning, scoring four runs on five hits, singles by Josh Forest, Justin Cosing, Matt Wojciechowski, Austin Gibbons and a double from Bobby Rae Allen.

The Colonials picked up a run in the top of the third and fourth to close the score to 5-2. The Colonials struck again in the top of the fith inning. 

The Seahawks earned two more runs in the bottom of the fifth with a lead off triple by Allen and hits by Glenn Mitchell and Josh Forrest. The Seahawks scored again in the bottom of the sixth after a lead off double by Wojciechowski and a single by JoJo Lear to complete the scoring.

The Seahawks improve to 3-11 (2-8 Liberty). 

The Seahawks will take on the Langley Saxons Friday.
