Thursday is Thankgiving, FCPS Cafeteria Style

Time for traditional turkey for students and their parents.

You know you have been waiting all year for this.

Thursday is Fairfax County Public Schools' traditional Thanksgiving lunch, where parents (at least of elementary school-aged students) are invited to celebrate Turkey Day with their kids in the school cafeteria.

Lunch includes turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, green beans and cranberry sauce, with a pumpkin frozen yogurt cup for dessert.

FCPS charges $2.65 to elementary school students for lunch and $2.75 to middle and high school students. Students who qualify for reduced-cost meals pay 40 cents.

So happy Thanksgiving, FCPS style, to students. And to the parents, how many years have you been partaking in your children' school feast?
