South Lakes Cheerleaders Finish Seventh at Northern Regionals
Herndon is third and will advance to the state finals.
The Seahawk cheerleaders, making their first-ever trip to the Northern Regionals, finished seventh in the competition Saturday at Fairfax High School. Herndon's squad finished in the top four and earned a place in next weekend's Virginia state championship.
The eight schools competing included host Fairfax, Stone Bridge, Herndon, West Springfield, Chantilly, South County, South Lakes and Centerville.
The top four teams in the region advance to the state competition on Nov. 12 at in Richmond.

Fairfax won the Northern Region Champions Fairfax Rebels (263 pts), followed by Stone Bridge (256 pts), Herndon (251.5 pts), and West Springfield (227 pts).
