SLHS Class of 2011 At A Glance

Here's a look at the senior class' college acceptances.

The Class of 2011 is nearly ready to say goodbye to high school and hello to college life.

The senior class has 389  students and an estimated 80 percent of South Lakes seniors will move on to two- or four-year colleges. That enrollment number is consistent with past graduating classes, South Lakes administrators said.

Here is a look at the Class of 2011 applications and acceptances for Virginia state schools and a overall list of college acceptances.

One of the things I love about SLHS is that Mr. Butler cares just as much about the kids who are not college bound as the ones who are. Every student is important to him and he isn't any more proud of the kid going to the Ivy League than the kid going into full-time working to help his family pay the bills. This is the last "small" graduating class, so it will be a bigger challenge for the administration to guide these next several classes into similar great opportunities without kids falling through the cracks. It will require more parents to be more involved to benefit all the kids, so when you're asked to volunteer, don't say no too quickly!

Bruce Butler does not care about every student.

To quote The Great Gipper in one of the famous Presidential Debates: " Here you go again"...
