Reward for Information in High School Graffiti Incidents

South Lakes, Herndon facilities had $1,000 of damage each, police said.

Fairfax County Crime Solvers say offering a reward for tips leading to an arrest in the graffiti at South Lakes and Herndon High Schools last week.

Police estimate that the graffiti - profanity that was spray painted on a facilities at Herndon and on the brand-new artificial turf field at South Lakes - caused $1,000 worth of damage at each school. It has since been removed.

The first incident occurred at Herndon High School early on Thursday, Aug.  29. Authorities found derogatory words and pictures spray-painted on the field, buildings and equipment. 

The second incident was discovered at South Lakes on Saturday, Aug. 31 around 8:08 a.m.  Similar vulgarities - along with the Herndon Hornets mascot - were spray painted on the the practice field and concrete.

A $100 to $1,000 cash reward will be paid for information that leads to an arrest, Crime Solvers said. Tipsters do not have to give their name.
