Students, parents and other volunteers turn out for start of Bruce Butler Landscaping Project.

Dozens of students, parents, and other volunteers helped to beautify South Lakes High School's grounds on Saturday as part of the PTSA’s Bruce Butler Landscaping Tribute project.

Volunteers dug up grass, moved trees and plants to clean up three beds near the school’s entrance.  They also tore out high maintenance shrubs to be replaced by a swath of easier-to-maintain crape myrtles.

Pete Murray of  and father of SLHS senior Chris Murray, donated project design and supplies.
