A Bronte Double Bill

This 8-week class will read Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre and her sister Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights, classics that have inspired countless film and TV adaptations. The novels appear very different, but the class will look for similarities below the surface and discuss why both have been so beloved for over 150 years. Instructor Kay Menchel grew up in Yorkshire and is a lawyer who also has an MA in English literature from George Mason. The class, developed for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at George Mason University, is available to current OLLI members and to guests from the community through a joint venture with the Reston Community Center. OLLI's full catalog of daytime courses and events is available at www.gmu.edu. Registration through RCC is $24 Reston/$48 non-Reston.
