A Little Help From Their Canine Friends

Champions make a visit to Sunrise Valley Elementary students.

Forty-two students at were visited by some special dogs last week.

The dogs and children participated in Champions, a disability awareness class to develop understanding and empathy of those with disabilities.

Seeing-eye dogs-in-training Marcus, Brady, and Ford were aided by trainers Diana Farabaugh, Liz Moltrie, and Melissa Odem. Farabaugh has visited SVES the last four years to share what it takes to become a guide dog.

The dogs and trainers belong to  Guiding Eyes for the Blind, based in Patterson , NY, but live locally.
