What Will It Cost to Park at Wiehle Metro Station?

Fairfax County Supervisors set the fees for Silver Line parking garage and bike station.

It will cost commuters $4.75 a day to park at Metrorail's parking garage at the Wiehle-Reston East station, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors said on Tuesday.

The supervisors also set the monthly parking fee at $65.  Both fees are consistent with what Metro currently charges at other garages in the county, the supervisors said. The rates will be adjusted in the future to ensure they remain consistent with other Metro parking facilities, they added.

The 2,300-spot parking garage at Wiehle-Reston East will be on the only parking on the first phase of the Silver Line, which is expected to open in early 2014. It is being built as a public-private partnership between Comstock and the county.

The station will also feature 46 “Kiss and Ride” spaces, multiple bus bays, and a secure locker room for bicycles.

The yearly membership fee for using the secure, bike locker room will be $75, the supervisors said. The “Bike & Ride” indoor locker room, the first of its kind for the county, will accommodate over 200 bikes and include two small, repair stations and benches.

Free, unsecured bike parking will also be available in the garage, along with a future Capital Bikeshare docking station, the county says.
