Where and When to Vote
Due to statewide redistricting, some voters may be going to a different polling location than in past years, even if the voter has not moved. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

WHO’S ON THE BALLOT
Reston’s residents will be selecting a state senator, house delegates, and Fairfax County schools and government officials.

STATE
Forrest, Howell: State Senate – District 32
Republican (website, Facebook, Twitter) is running against incumbent Democrat (website, Facebook).
Forrest is a former senior official in the Department of Homeland Security. Howell is a current senator; she has served since the early 1990s.
Cannon, Plum: House of Delegates – District 36
, a Republican, is challenging Democrat incumbent
Cannon (website, Facebook) is the executive director of a business trade organization.
Plum (website) served in the House of Delegates from 1978 to 1980, and from 1982 until now.
FAIRFAX COUNTY
Board of Supervisors Chair
Incumbent (website, Facebook, Twitter)is being challenged by Republican (website, Facebook), Independent candidate Will Radle (YouTube, Facebook) and Independent candidate Christopher DeCarlo (website).
Hunter Mill District Supervisor
Incumbent Catherine Hudgins (website) is running unopposed.
Fairfax County Sheriff
Republican is facing current in this election. Cooper (website,Facebook) is a former deputy sheriff lieutenant. Barry (website) has been Fairfax County Sheriff for 12 years.
SCHOOL BOARD
Seven candidates are running for at-large seats on the Fairfax County school board. In addition, voters will choose school board representatives for the Hunter Mill district.

FAIRFAX CO. SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DIRECTOR
Voters may vote for up to three people for the position of Soil and Water Conservation Director, Northern Virginia District. The candidates are:

SCHOOL BOND
Included on the Nov. 8 general election ballot is a referendum for a $252.75 million school bond to fund Fairfax County Public School's 2012-16 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
Each year Fairfax County Public Schools develops a five-year CIP to address future facility needs, including renovations of existing facilities and building of new facilities.
