So Far, A Super Slow Tuesday

Light traffic at Reston's polling spots

- at least through the morning hours - at most Reston polling places.

With only two names - Mitt Romney and Ron Paul - on the 2012 Virginia Republican Primary ballot, poll workers had time on their hands.

Virginia is one of 10 states voting on Super Tuesday. At stake are Virginia's 49 delegates.

Mary Brett, Chief Elections Officer at polling place, said at mid-morning, about 1.5 percent of registered Republicans in that precinct had turned out to vote. That's 58 in person and seven absentee ballots, she said.

"People were somewhat vocal that there were only two candidates and they could not write in a candidate," Brett said.

Republican candidates Rick Santorum and Newt Gngrich are not on the ballot because they did not collect encough signatures by the filing deadline.

There were 28 voters at the polling place at by midmorning and 40 at the Cameron Glen polling spot near Reston Town Center.

Paul Latchford, 84, voted at Sunrise Valley. He said he cast his vote for Romney because "he is the best man under the circumstances."

"He is balanced, experienced and honest," said Latchford.
