Want to find out the latest about the coming Silver Line? Wednesday night is your chance to get the scoop on what's going on with the new metro service coming to Reston.

The Reston Association is hosting a discussion and update on the Metrorail Silver Line Wednesday night, at 6:30 p.m. at the Reston Association conference center, 12001 Sunrise Valley Dr.

Experts from the Fairfax County Office of Transportation staff will discuss issues such as bus schedules, pedestrian issues, roadway improvement plans and the parking garage.

Jointly sponsored by the Transportation and the Reston Neighborhood Advisory committees, this meeting will feature maps, conversations and updates.

Supervisor Cathy Hudgins and members of her staff will also be in attendance.

Please RSVP to member_services@reston.org.

What question would you ask at the meeting?

Great, in case I can't make the meeting as I have to drive home on the congested toll rd., someone please ask when is the Reston metro going to officially launch and where is the accountability for not meeting previous deadlines?

There are "experts" working for the Fairfax county department of transportation? I find that hard to believe.

I'd like to know who did the study on what will happen to traffic around the Reston station. Looks to me like a a HUGE traffic jam.

Do we have a "definite" date when operations will start?

Told you so. Of course Reston is going to be even more traffic choked. Good news is that the silver line is, yet again, delayed due to, among many other faults, failure to get occupancy permits on at least 20 buildings, leaks, FUBAR computer train control (which has not worked on the rest of metro since 2009 or earlier) and missing documents. There are NO parking facilities on the silver line but for Reston. The narrow dangerous access roads (Sunset Hills and Wiehle) will be jammed packed as thousands of vehicles attempt to maneuver through them in what will surely be a maddening effort to get to the limited parking. These are your "experts" who have spent billions of your tolls and tax dollars on the silver line.
