Rail To Dulles But Not At Dulles?

MWAA board member Robert Clarke Brown suggests axing the airport station in favor of people movers from the Rt. 28/CIT station to the airport terminal.

WTOP reports that a board member on the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority proposed changing the Dulles Metrorail Project by getting rid of the Dulles International Airport station entirely.

The change was suggested in MWAA’s Wednesday board meeting by MWAA board member Robert Clarke Brown. Instead he suggested that the Route 28/Center for Innovative Technology station become the new airport station, with a people mover system to get people from the station to the airport.

Brown said it could make the experience better for passengers, taking them directly to the terminal. It would also result in substantial cost savings, Brown says. Many members of the board expressed skepticism at the idea.
