New Hours For Reston Regional Library

FY2013 additions mean libraries can increase hours.

will be open additional hours beginning Sept. 8.

Fairfax County Public Library says additional money in the means the system can restore some of the hours that were cut back in the last few years.

“We are pleased that we can restore many of the open hours lost during the economic downturn. Our library services are important to county residents and now they are much more accessible,” Edwin S. Clay III, director of Fairfax County Public Library, said in a statement.

Regional library branches such as Reston will be open:

  • Monday through Thursday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

All community branches, such as will also have their schedules modified in September. The new schedule at community branches will be:

  • Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday: 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Community branches will be closed on Sundays.
