Letter: Your Vote Counts

Reston Association President Ken Knueven urges all RA members to cast their vote in the Board of Directors election.

Restonians have always gotten involved in their community in a variety of productive ways. As we enter the final days of the 2013 Board of Directors’ election, members can do another important thing for the community – vote.

While the three open board seats are uncontested this year, your vote is still vitally important, as a 10 percent quorum is necessary to validate the election.

Only Reston Association members can determine, through the casting of their ballots, who sits on the governing board and helps chart Reston’s future.

It is important to note that your ballot, whether mailed or delivered electronically, must be received by the counting agent’s office by 5 p.m. on April 5.

To vote online, you must have a username and password, which are provided on paper ballots that have been mailed to members.

A second round of postcard reminders with usernames and passwords are being mailed this week. You can access the online ballot through the association’s website: www.reston.org. Once there, click on the “Vote in the Board Election” link.

For more information call 703-435-6512 or send an e-mail to electionscommittee@reston.org.

On behalf of Reston Association, I urge you to get involved and vote in this year’s important election.
