Janet Howell, Ken Plum to Host Meeting Before 2014 Virginia General Assembly Session
Legislators to host annual pre-session public meeting at Reston Community Center.
State Sen. Janet Howell (D-32) and Del. Ken Plum (D-36), Reston's elected representatives to the Virginia General Assembly, will host a public meeting Thursday, Jan. 2 to discuss their priorities heading into the assembly's 2014 session.
The Virginia General Assembly convenes every year on the second Wednesday of January. Since 2014 is an even-numbered year, the session will last 60 days, starting Wednesday, Jan. 8.
The Jan. 2 meeting is your chance to let Howell and Plum know what issues are most important heading into the session. There is no pre-registration required, and the event is open to all.
Written testimony is not required, but it is appreciated, according to Plum.
Plum's pre-session newsletter, including a survey on constituent positions, can be found here.
More information about the session itself can be found here.
The public meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Reston Community Center Hunters Woods, 2310 Colts Neck Road.
