Is VA Governor Backing Away from HB462?

Sources tell Washington Post that delay in ultrasound bill may mean McDonnell won't support it after all.

Attention has been on the commonwealth this week as SNL and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and a silent protest of more than 1,000 at the state capitol dissect Virginia's HB462, which would require women seeking an abortion to undergo a state-mandated vaginal ultrasound.

But it appears Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) may be rethinking his stance on the legislation.

 The Washington Post reports the governor's support for HB462, which he said in the past he would sign, may be wavering after he has learned more about the procedure, according to sources in McDonnell's office.

The Virginia House and Senate have passed versions of the bill, but the House postponed its final vote on the issue Tuesday.
