Hunter Mill Bridge Area Now Open
Repairs complete after September storm damage, says VDOT.
The section of Hunter Mill Road in Reston that has been closed to traffic since Tropical Storm Lee, re-opened to traffic Tuesday.
The Hunter Mill bridge was the first of six roads and bridges to re-open after being extensively damaged on Sept. 8, VDOT officials said.
Hunter Mill Road was closed between Crowell Road and Chamberlain Drive when flood waters washed out the pavement and damaged the shoulders. Crews have repaired the bridge approaches, repaved the roadway, and installed new guard rail and pavement markings.

Repairs to Carper’s Farm Way and Walker Road, which were damaged but not closed to traffic, will also be complete this week.
