How to Give Input on Baron Cameron Plans

Fairfax County Park Authority wants citizen ideas and feedback on future of Baron Cameron Park. Here is how to offer it.

Want to know more about future plans for Baron Cameron Park?

The Fairfax County Park Authority now has a project website devoted to all things Baron Cameron.

The county kicked off the master planning process with a May 7 meeting.  At the meeting, county staff presentations provided an overview of the Park Authority master plan revision process, background information about Baron Cameron Park (including the existing approved master plan and current site conditions), and the role and purpose of the park as a District park.

The staff presentation from the meeting is attached to this article. More information, including a meeting summary  and citizen comments, is now available for review on the project website.

The FPCA is considering several ideas for improving the park. Park officials say they will consider any suggestions from the community.

Reston Community Center is also in the process of considering a new recreational facility, which most likely would have an indoor pool, to be built in the park.

There have been several RCC public meetings since February, and the final feasibility report from consultants Brailsford & Dunlavey is expected June 3.

The FCPS says all received public comment will be reviewed and considered as the Park Authority begins to conduct further site analysis and draft the revised master plan for Baron Cameron Park.

Comments can be provided at any time throughout the planning process. Once the draft revised plan is completed, the Park Authority will hold a public comment meeting to present and gather community input on the draft revised plan, followed by a 30-day public comment period. A draft revised plan is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2013.

Comments can be submitted via email to Parkmail@fairfaxcounty.gov or via postal mail to:
