Forrest Hosts Chinese Activist at Reston Event

(R) hosted Chinese dissident, writer and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Wei Jingsheng at a lecture at Hidden Creek Country Club on Tuesday.

Wei's talk was titiled "Human Rights and the Economic Consequences of the U.S./China Trade Deficit."

 Wei, 61, served 18 years in Chinese prisons because of his outspoken campaign for democracy and human rights in China. He is known as   the "Nelson Mandela of China.”

 “Wei Jingsheng is truly an inspiration," said Forrest.  I am honored to have met this great leader and to be able to bring him to Reston for this important lecture."

Forrest is the Republican nominee for the state senate District 32. The seat is currently held by Janet Howell, who is running for re-election.
