Former Dem to Speak at Reston GOP Club Dinner

Artur Davis, former Alabama Congressman, will be speaker at Republican Club of Greater Reston's Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner Thursday.

Former Democratic Congressman Artur Davis will be the featured speaker at the Republican Club of Greater Reston's annual Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner Thursday at Hidden Creek Country Club.

Davis, who was once described as “the Obama of Alabama,” was formerly mentioned as a possible attorney general in the Obama Administration. By 2010, he had, as a Democrat Congressman from Alabama, voted against Obamacare ... twice … and in 2012, he left the Democrats, joined the GOP, and spoke at the Republican National Convention.

“Mr. Davis is a dynamic conservative leader and rising star in the Republican Party.  We look forward to his inspirational message and personal journey from being an Obama ally to a Lincoln-Reagan Republican,” said Ryan King, President of the Republican Club of Greater Reston, said in a statement,

The 11th annual Reston Republican dinner begins at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $80 from March 11 to 20, and $100 at the door.
