Developers Have Vision for Crescent Apts

AHC and Hines submit proposal for 1,330 units near Lake Anne.

Developers AHC and Hines have submitted a proposal for the redevelopment of  near Lake Anne, a business and real estate blog reported on Thursday.

As part of a , AHC and Hines are proposing a 1,330-unit community, including 275 affordable apartments that AHC would develop, according to the blog Citybiz List.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors acquired the property in February 2006 with the goal of preserving and producing affordable workforce housing.  The 16-acre, 180-unit development, built in 1963, was part of the nearly $2.3 billion real estate portfolio placed on the market in 2005 by the Mark Winkler Company

Note: This is one of several expected proposals from various developers. The county anticipates selecting a developer for the property by July 2, CityBiz said.
