County Starts Budget Process With Forum Tuesday
Residents encouraged to give input on where dollars go.
There is still time to register and attend Tuesday night's Fairfax County budget process meeting.
The forum, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, is a chance for residents to offer feedback and opinions as the county starts drafting the 2012 budget, which will be approved in the spring.
Tuesday's meeting will include an overview of the county budget as well as breakout sessions in smaller groups.

To help residents further understand the budget and determine which issues mean the most to them, the county has created do-it-yourself tool kits, available online.
The do-it-yourself tool kits include a 15-minute educational video about the county budget; background information to help guide discussion; questions posed by the county for groups to answer as part of their discussion; and an online feedback form that can be submitted to the county.
Residents can also lend their input in March and April at the scheduled budget hearings.
