Winterthur Murder Suspect in Court Aug. 6

Abir Ali, the will have his first preliminary hearing in Fairfax County District Court on Aug. 6 at 2 p.m.

Ali, 20, a resident of Prince George's County, was arrested there on June 14. He is charged with second-degree murder.

Patel lived at 11913 Winterthur Ln., about a block away from , where the donut shop is located.

Police responded twice to the Winterthur neighborhood in the early morning hours of June 9 after receiving reports of a fight.

Patel was found dead by police about 2 a.m. in the bushes on the same block as his apartment. He had trauma to the upper body.
