Seven SLHS Students Charged With Trespassing

Students tripped alarm last week while setting senior prank at the school.

Seven students were charged with trespassing on June 8 when they were caught by Fairfax County Police in the act of setting a senior prank.

Police were called to the school at 1:10 a.m. after an alarm activation and found eight students there. One juvenile was returned to his parents.

The other seven - Christian Gaston, Lucian Fox, Ryan Forrest, Mitchell Dempster, Alexander Graves, Bashier Mazid, and Jeffrey Church, all 18 - were charged with trespassing.

There was no damage, and police did not say what the prank involved. Over at Herndon High, - for their part in a senior prank June 6.

A source familiar with the situation said the boys stayed after the senior awards on June 8. The planned prank was to place pastic drinking cups on a stairway, the same prank that the Class of 2011 pulled last spring.

The students returned to school the next day and performed several hours of community service, the source said. They were permitted to take part in South Lakes' commencement on Thurday.

The students have an August court date. 

South Lakes Principal Bruce Butler declined comment.
