Incidents reported by Fairfax County Police for the week ending Sept. 14. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

BURGLARY, 12000 block of Greywing Square, 9/7/12, 11:15 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole a laptop. Entry was likely made through an unlocked front door.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 13200 block of Stable Brook Way, 9/7/12, 9:40 p.m. A resident returned home to find that someone entered his home through a rear door. Nothing was taken. There was a German Shepherd in the home.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 11800 block of Shire Court, 9/8/12, 12:30 a.m. A resident reported she heard someone entering her home through a kitchen window. She yelled at the suspect as she called police. He fled prior to police arrival without taking anything from the home.

ASSAULT ON POLICE OFFICER, 12300 block of Coleraine Court, 9/10/12, 8 a.m. An officer on his way to a burglary event came across a woman standing in the road in his lane of travel. He ordered her to get off the road. She allegedly became belligerent and was placed under arrest. She allegedly kicked the officer when being placed in the vehicle. Patricia Edwards, 64, of Reston, was charged with assault on a police officer and disorderly conduct. No one was injured.
