Reston Man's Wakeup Call: Gunshot by Wife

Barrel Cooper Court resident arrested after she allegedly shot her husband while he slept.

A Reston woman was charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm after she allegedly shot her sleeping husband last week.

Police said a man was sleeping in his home in the 11900 block of Barrel Cooper Court about 1:20 a.m. on Nov. 21 when he awoke to the sounds and pain of a gunshot.

He told police his wife, Ladawn King, 34, shot him in the arm and fled the home.

The man received non life-threatening injuries. King turned herself in and was charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

ASSAULT, 11800 block of Sunrise Valley Drive, 11/21/12, 6 p.m. A 73-year-old victim reported he was walking on Reston National Golf Course when a group of four or five teenagers approached. They demanded money. He did not have any and turned away. He was struck on the shoulder and ran. The suspects did not follow. They were described as black males approximately 13 or 14 years old.

LARCENY, Reston Parkway/South Lakes Drive, 11/27/12, 4:25 p.m. A 50-year-old victim reported he was approached by a man. They engaged in conversation and the victim took out some cash. The suspect allegedly reached out, took the money, and fled.

Tre’Varis Ross, 22, of Reston, was charged with larceny from person and drunk in public.
