Reston Crime Report: Another Chopper Search

Police search for - and find- driver who fled traffic stop.

Fairfax County Police took to the skies and ground Monday night to try and apprehend a driver who they said fled from officers at a traffic stop.

Police said an officer initiated a traffic stop at North Shore Drive and Wainwright Drive about 10:25 p.m.

The vehicle drove away from the officer. The driver stopped on a dead end street and continued to flee on foot. The helicopter and a K-9 team assisted in searching for the suspect. The driver was identified and several charges are pending, police said.
