Police ID Dead Man Found in Lake Thoreau
Roy Cooley, 91, lived across the street from South Lakes Village Center.
Fairfax County Police have identified the man who was found dead in Lake Thoreau on Friday as Roy Cooley, 91, of Reston.
Cooley, who lived nearby on Sagewood Lane, was located by a police helicopter Friday morning in the lake by the South Lakes Village Center dock.
He had been reported missing from his residence earlier in the day. Police also found Cooley's property, including a walker, on the dock.
Police said Cooley's death does not appear to be criminal. The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death, police said.
