Reston Police Pursuit Ends With Drug Charges

Officers make arrest after traffic stop reveals pot and a gun.

A Maryland man was arrested on several charges after a traffic stop revealed he had marijuana and a gun in the car. 

Fairfax County Police said officers tried to stop a gray Toyota on Leesburg Pike in Reston on Wednesday at about 10:30 a.m. 

The driver of the Toyota initially stopped on an exit ramp but fled after a brief verbal exchange with the officer. A second officer was able to stop the Toyota at Hunter Mill Road and Baron Cameron Avenue and took the driver into custody.

Dwight Lamar Hayman, 32, of Glendale, Md., was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and reckless driving, police said.
