Police Investigate Family's Death As Suspicious

Fairfax County officials believe Tuesday situation was contained within the household; are awaiting autopsy results

Fairfax County police are investigating the death of a family in Herndon as suspicious, the department said in a statement Tuesday night.

Police were called out to the home in the 13300 block of Point Rider Lane at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to do a welfare check on the family after a coworker of one of the adults notified police they hadn’t been to work Monday or Tuesday, police said.

Police breached the home at about noon and found the bodies of two adults and two school aged-children, Fairfax County Police Spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said.

The department is awaiting the result of autopsies, being performed by the Office of the Medical Examiner, for more information on the cause and manner of the deaths.

Police said they felt the deaths were "contained within the household and that there is no broader threat to the community."

Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.

May GOD bless our nation's first responders, police, fire and EMT's, whose lives protect ours and bear witness to some of life's greatest tragedies.

Amen! Very grateful for their willingness to sacrifice peace of mind so that we may all find a sense of assurance... My heart also goes out to the family, friends, and neighbors as they cope with the loss of their loved ones.

there are alot of interesting things posted on Fairfax Underground about the company the husband worked for and how they had another suspicious death in the parking lot of the company a few years ago. Things aren't always so black and white as they seem. Maybe he didn't do it.

Ahh! Here come the conspiracy theorists. My sympathy to friends and family of the Petersons.

The heading says that police find that the slaughter is suspicious. Wow, that is a brillian deduction.
