Police: Autopsy for Bharat Patel Monday

Hunters Woods Dunkin Donuts co-owner found dead near his apartment early Saturday.

Fairfax County Police said an autopsy will be conducted Monday to determine the exact cause of death of Bharat Patel,

Patel, 40, was a part-owner of the at 2280 Hunters Woods Plaza. His body was found about 2 a.m. Saturday in the 11900 block of Winterthur Lane.

"Mr. Patel was found behind bushes and power box near the complex’s main office," said Fairfax County Police officer Eduardo Azcarate. "That is also the street where Mr. Patel lived."

Patel was found with trauma to the upper body. Officer Azcarate said autopsy results probably would not known for several days. 

Meanwhile, at Dunkin' Donuts on Monday, it was business as usual. Co-owner Sri Vederey said she has no comment about Patel's death.

Patel, Vederey and Vederey's husband, Jay, opened the new store last Wednesday.

Fairfax County Police detectives on Sunday released a composite sketch of a suspect in the suspicious death  

The suspect is described as an Indian male, 25-35 years old; approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt with a thin orange stripe down the sleeves and blue jeans.

Officers originally responded to the 11900 block of Winterthur Lane for a reported fight about 12:45 a.m.

The officers did not find any fight, but about an hour later, a missing person report was made at Hunter Woods Plaza. An investigation lead the officers back to Winterthur Lane, where the body was found.

Officers did not say who reported Patel missing.
