Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews were called to the scene of a townhouse fire in the 2000 block of Swans Neck Way about 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The fire, which is believed to have started in the basement, was quickly brought under control, the house was unoccupied and there were no injuries.
But it was the second time in six months there was a fire at the same end unit.
Homeowner Joe Lynch, who has lived in the house since 1999, said a repair crew sparked a fire in the home in July. The fire did not cause any structural damage, but a lot of smoke damage, he said.
He and his wife have been renting an apartment in North Reston while repair crews—now working on the fire damage—were in the house.
The cause of Wednesday's fire is under investigation.
