Fire at Herndon Kohl's Intentionally Set

Investigators seeking answers as to who set pile of clothes on fire.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue is trying to determine who set fire to a pile of clothes at on Tuesday night.

Units responded to the store, at 2100 Centreville Rd., at about 6:20 p.m. 

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke throughout the store upon arrival. Firefighters found the seat of the fire at a clothing rack in the women’s section of the store. Sprinklers had activated and extinguished the bulk of the fire. Firefighters checked for fire and extension and ventilated the store. The store was evacuated when smoke alarms sounded.  There were no injuries.

Damage is undetermined.

Fire fire investigators said the fire was intentionally set. The investigation is ongoing.
