Fairfax County Police Seeking Public's Help in String of Eyewear Thefts

Suspects have struck four optical area optical stores since July.

Fairfax County Crime Solvers is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the persons responsible for stealing expensive, framed glasses from vision stores throughout the region. Detectives are aware of four reported cases in Fairfax County this year:

•    Wednesday, July 6 at Steiner Vision – 6201 Leesburg Pike in the Falls Church area. Six pairs of Gucci eyewear were stolen.
•    Wednesday, July 6 at True Vision – 6643 Arlington Boulevard in the Falls Church area. One pair of Gucci eyewear was stolen.
•    Monday, July 11 at Great Falls Eye Center – 9909 Georgetown Pike in the Great Falls area. Four pairs of eyewear were stolen.
•    Thursday, Nov. 10 at For Eyes – 6242 Little River Turnpike in the Alexandria area. Six pairs of eyewear were stolen.

In each incident, at least two suspects enter the store. One suspect distracts the employee while the other suspect conceals the eyewear. In one case the suspect concealed one pair of expensive glasses and replaced them with an inexpensive pair, police said.
