Crime Report: Two Arrested in Reston Robbery

Police K9s and helicopter chased a Reston man and Herndon man accused of stealing cash and cell phone.

Police arrested two men on Feb. 25 after another man says he was beaten and robbed in the 2200 block of Marginella Drive.

The 24-year-old victim told police two men allegedly beat him and stole cash and his cell phone about 3:10 p.m.

The suspects fled in a vehicle. Officers found the car and the suspects fled on foot.

The helicopter and a K-9 team then assisted in the search. Nydale Sheppard, 27, of Reston, and Angel Hernandez, 19, of Herndon, were each charged with robbery.

GRAFFITI, 2100 block of Cartwright Place, Feb. 23, 5:15 p.m. A resident reported someone wrote words with a marker on the side of the home. The homeowner will remove the graffiti.

GRAFFITI, 11800 block of Sunrise Valley Drive, Feb. 24, 11:10 a.m. An officer saw spray painted words on the side of a building. He contacted the owner to have the graffiti removed.

BURGLARY/FORGERY, 1800 block of Town Center Drive, Feb. 25, noon. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole checks. Forced entry was made through a side door. One of the checks was attempted to be cashed at a local bank. The investigation continues.

BURGLARY, 1300 block of Browns Mill Court, Feb. 25, 7 a.m. A resident reported someone enter the home and stole her purse. She chased the suspect, but he got away. Entry was made with a garage door opener from a vehicle in the driveway.

11900 block of Market Street, magnetic sensor from business

1700 block of Reston Parkway, cash from business

12000 block of Sunset Hills Road, purse from business
