Crime Report: Burglaries in South Reston

Fairfax County Police report several burglaries in the Reston area this week in which an intruder entered through an unlocked door. 

On Feb. 14 at 12:35 a.m. , a resident of the 12000 block of Greywing Square reported someone entered the home and stole her purse. On Feb. 17 at 11 p.m., a resident of the 2000 block of Royal Fern Court told police someone entered his home through a rear door. Nothing was stolen. On Feb. 18 at 7 a.m., a resident of the 11800 block of Breton Court said someone entered the home and stole several items, including a laptop computer

In separate and unrelated incidents reported by the Fairfax County Police Reston District Station:

PURSUIT, Leesburg Pike/Middleton Ridge Road, Feb. 15, 10:45 p.m. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver allegedly refused to stop. When it stopped, the driver and all five passengers ran away.

A juvenile was caught and charged with illegal possession of alcohol and drunk in public. The driver was still not captured but warrants for speed to elude, possession of marijuana, and illegal possession of alcohol were obtained.

GRAFFITI, Sunset Hills Road/Wiehle Avenue, Feb. 17, 11 a.m. Spray painted images were located on utility boxes, a power pole, and the sidewalk. The owners of each have been notified to remove the graffiti.

GRAFFITI, 1500 block of Becontree Lane, Feb. 20, 2:15 p.m. Images were found on a wall and bench. The graffiti was removed.

2300 block of Hunters Woods Plaza, 24 pack of beer from business

1800 block of Michael Faraday Court, cell phone from business

900 block of Locust Street, headphones from school

11800 block of Sunrise Valley Drive, can of beer from business

2700 block of Viking Drive, cell phone from business

VEHICLE THEFTS

2200 block of Winterthur, 1997 Toyota
