Cleanup Begins After Condo Fire

Three-alarm blaze caused more than $1 million in damage early Tuesday.

Crews were at Sutton Ridge Condos in North Reston Tuesday morning to clean up the damage, assess losses and secure a three-story building that 

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue officials are still assessing what caused the blaze, which damaged nine of the 18 units at 11404 Gate Hill Place.

Stephanie Bogdanovic, a 10-year resident of the building, said she was out of town but got a phone call from her boyfriend at about 2 a.m. alerting her to the fire.

She says arrived back from the Shenandoah at 4 a.m. to see that her third-floor, two-bedroom condo essentially gutted by the fire.

"The fire department was nice enough to let me walk up the stairs and look," said Bogdanovic, a 33-year-old sales rep. "I was not allowed to get anything though."

Bogdanovic was talking to her insurance representative outside her condo on Tuesday.

"I have insurance," she said. "We'll see what happens."

The American Red Cross of the National Capital Region is assisting displaced residents.
