Fox Mill Fire Causes $125K in Damage

Family displaced after Tuesday blaze on Copenhagen Court.

A Tuesday afternoon house fire on Copenhagen Court started in a family's live  Christmas tree, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue officials said.

The two-alarm fire caused about $125,000 of damage to the single-family house in Reston. Officials are still investigating why the tree caught fire.

Units were called to the fire in the 12000 block of Copenhagen Court about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters started an aggressive fire attack in the back of the house, but a weakened and unsafe floor required them to withdraw and attack the fire from a different part of the home, fire officials said.

The blaze was brought the fire under control in about 35 minutes.

No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries, however the family of two adults and two children has been displaced.
