Obituary: Kenneth Goldsby, 78

Kenneth E. Goldsby of South Riding died on July 24 after a long illness.  He was 78.

Mr. Goldsby was a native of Harbor Creek Township, Pa., where he was educated in a one-room schoolhouse.

He was a longtime employee of STERIS Corporation, which brought him to Northern Virginia in 1969. He was an active member of the Herndon Optimist Club.
 
Mr. Goldsby is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Gloria Jean; three sons, Kenneth Jr., Daniel and Robert; and his six grandchildren, Sadie, Elijah, Zachary, Devon, Kyla and Logan. He is also survived by his only brother, Wilbur E. Goldbsy of Harbor Creek, Pa. He was predeceased by his parents, Hamilton and Blanche Goldsby.

Mr. Goldbsy has donated his body to science through MediCure. After that his remains will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to Capital Caring.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1090 Sterling Rd., Herndon. Music at the celebration of Ken's life will be provided by the Herndon Town Square Singers, a group founded in 1982 by Gloria Goldsby.
