Reston's Andrew E. Taslitz, Law Professor, Dies at 57

Named top law professor.

Andrew E. Taslitz, a Reston resident who taught law at Howard University and American University, died of cancer at the age of 57, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.

Mr. Taslitz taught courses in criminal procedure, evidence and criminal law before passing on Feb. 9 at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, according to his obituary.

In 2013, he was named one of the best 26 law professors in the nation in, "What the Best Law Teachers Do," published by Harvard University Press.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Sun of Reston; his father, Saul Taslitz of the Bronx; and a sister.
