Rakoff Named Chair of Reston Interfaith Board

Former Treasurer of RI will lead through 2015.

Reston resident Stuart Rakoff has been named Chairman of the Reston Interfaith Board of Directors, Reston Interfaith announced.

Rakoff, of Rakoff & Associates, LLC, will serve through July 2015.

“Building on the very strong board leadership in the past, our new officers assume responsibility at a time of significant challenge and opportunity," said Rakoff.

"We are broadening our geographic and program base beyond Reston," he added. "We are reinvigorating our partnerships with our traditional supporters and reaching out to establish new connections in our vibrant community. We are moving boldly on new initiatives to expand our proven capability to help families achieve self-sufficiency. We are redefining our public face to become a stronger voice for our positive values as Metro changes the dimensions and needs of our community. "

Rakoff, a regular blogger on Reston Patch, served most recently as the Treasurer of the Reston Interfaith Board. He takes over for Angela Harpalani, CEO of Dimensional Concepts, LLCand representing Heritage Fellowship Church, who served as Chairman of the Board from July 2011 through June 2013.

Michael Scheurer begins his second year as President of the Reston Interfaith Housing Corporation (RIHC), a subsidiary to Reston Interfaith responsible for acquisition and management of the organization’s housing assets for homeless and low-income families and individuals.
