Commemorative Bricks Showing Signs of Wear

Reston Historic Trust will replace several bricks on Lake Anne Plaza.

A handful of the commemorative bricks installed on the plaza at Reston's Lake Anne Plaza are showing signs of detereration and will be replaced by the Reston Historic Trust.

The bricks, which cost $100-250, are purchased by individuals or businesses. Proceeds go to the Reston Historic Trust and Museum. The bricks are located on the plaza in front of the "Bronze Bob" statue of founder Robert E. Simon.

A few years of inclement weather and snowplowing on the plaza have caused some bricks to crack or deteriorate around the edges.

The Reston Historic Trust recently authorized an expenditure of $400-500 to pay for brick repairs on four small and four large bricks.
